What Goodyear requires
Goodyear is clear that a stored RV or trailer belongs on a paved surface: in an enclosed garage, or in the side or rear yard on pavement behind a solid 6-foot fence. Up to two RVs, trailers or similar can be stored that way, and the driveway is for loading and unloading for up to 48 hours.
The City also says plainly that if a lot cannot accommodate proper storage, the RV goes to a storage lot. So the first question in Goodyear is whether the side or rear yard can take the rig.
| Rule | What it says | What it means for the pad |
|---|---|---|
| Where RVs and trailers go | In an enclosed garage, or in the side or rear yard on a paved surface behind a solid 6 ft fence | A paved pad behind the fence |
| Number of units | No more than two RVs, trailers, boats or similar stored in the side or rear yards | Size the pad for what you keep |
| Driveway | Loading and unloading only, up to 48 hours | The driveway is not storage |
| No room on the lot | If the lot cannot accommodate proper storage, the RV goes to a storage lot | Check the gate and side yard first |

A pad that meets the Goodyear rule
Concrete is the paved surface most Goodyear owners choose, because it stays level under jacks and does not soften in summer. The pad runs from an RV gate into the side yard, sized to the rig, reinforced, and sloped away from the house.
Much of Goodyear is newer construction on former farmland, where fill and native soil vary across a lot. A compacted base under the pad is what keeps it from settling unevenly.
